• My Alamari started with a bold and courageous spirit. A belief in empowering women, through the experience of a "Maharani" {Queen} moment, with a freedom of choice to rent designer outfits and easy access to an endless closet. We believe in affordable and sustainable designer clothing and accessories, that allow our customers to rent, buy or lend their own and make money.

Every opportunity emerges from a problem: A friend of ours, Namita was invited as a keynote speaker to a prestigious embassy event in DC. She was asked to reflect the culture and heritage of her home country. Namita wants to wear an ethnic dress that speaks to the culture and craftsmanship of Indian artisans. She has a few ethnic designer clothes in her closet, but none that are right for this event. She has spent hours visiting boutiques in and around DC, but to no avail.

  • She wants to find her dream dress and have her "Maharani" moment, while having a hassle-free shopping experience. To get her dressed in time for her event, she enlists a few of her friends, including me to find her the perfect dress. We opened our closets for her to find that perfect dress that she could wear for the event. She is even willing to pay to use the dress for the event and return it back to us. We remembered borrowing from someone else's wardrobe in our teenage years and reminisced about feeling gorgeous on a budget. Out of these eureka moments, the "My Alamari" technology platform emerged with a clear goal of accessibility and affordability to haute couture, for men, woman and children, while allowing customers like you, to make money lending their under-utilized clothes and accessories. Our team, specializing in technology, research, data, experience design and fashion bring their labor of love through this technology platform.

  • To bring these designs to you, we work with ethnic designers, who focus on sustainability and empowerment of indigenous women. The craftsmanship of these designs, hand woven by the indigenous women, help them earn a living and break the cycle of poverty for their families. It also aids in educating and preserving for future generations the techniques, workmanship, color and use of embroidery of an otherwise dying craft. Join the My Alamari Freedom movement and empower these indigenous women.
